Early Heat Drove Offtake, Ceiling Fan Premiumization Continues

Not a Uniform Heatwave Story, An Early Season Activation Story: Mar–Apr’26 Fans retail offtake indicates a weather-assisted demand uptick, led more by early summer activation and warm nights than by uniform all-India heat. Consumer offtake grew 11% in volume and 16% in value YoY, reflecting weather-led demand expansion with premiumisation support, in the early part of summer.

From a regional volume lens, West and South showed the clearer weather-sales linkage. West grew 15% YoY, supported by heatwave in Gujarat, Vidarbha and other pockets of Maharashtra. South grew ~16% YoY, aligned with hotter and drier South Peninsular conditions. North remained positive with 10% uptick in Mar-Apr’26 YoY. The zone benefited from early warm-night discomfort in Mar’26 and late-Apr’26 heat pockets across Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and parts of UP

While East was weak due to rainfall/storm disruptions, and lower retail pickup, particularly in West Bengal, where elections coincided with the fan-selling window and a high 2024 base. This deferred discretionary retail purchases across several areas in the state.

Overall, Mar–Apr’26 Fans growth was weather-assisted, but geographically uneven, strongest in West and South, selective in North, and weak in East.

New Models Are Powering Premium Ceiling Fans Growth:
New model demand was concentrated in Entry-Level Premium (ELP) and above, delivering double-digit value contribution in Mar–Apr’26. Upper bands grew faster at ~13% in volume terms versus ~8% in Economy and Popular. New model salience also rose with each higher band: Super Premium > Premium > Entry-Level Premium, reaching nearly one-third of Super Premium sales, reinforcing their role in driving premiumization.

ELP Double-digit volume contribution within the band || higher penetration compared to YoY Adding more decorative finishes, matte looks and BLDC entry points
